More Kent Orchids!

Was up reasonable early today as I had a few orchids on the photography list. First of all I popped in to Wye to see an incredibly rare orchid which is confined to a handful of locations in Kent. This location holds the majority of the UK population.

Once I was happy with the shots I then proceeded to get lost in the multitude to country lanes like I always do being saved by Google maps again. Next stop was Parkgate Down for the tiny Musk Orchid which is always a pain to find, but I managed to see quite a few, which gave me plenty of scope to find one in a reasonable location to photograph.

There were plenty of Common Spotted Orchid and Fragrant Orchid, with the odd Pyramidal coming into flower, but this Greater Butterfly Orchid caught my eye being in the perfect position for a contrasting background.
