Great Crested Grebes

It was looking like a clear sky when I set out a silly o'clock in the morning, but by the time I had arrived a Bewl Water the cloud cover had arrived, which was typical. Anyhow I went with the intention of taking some photos of the GCGs, but they never really came close enough for any really decent shots and the light was crap mostly anyway and , moan, moan, moan. Having a 1.4tc would had got some frame filling shots, but I don't have one and autofocus doesn't work at f8, on the 7D anyways so I've never bothered. Maybe one day when I can afford a 500, or Canon brings out a new 400 F4 at a semi reasonable price.

I'll stop complaining now...

Great Crested Grebe

Should have got lower on this one...

Nearly every fish that this youngster was given was a small pike. Not sure if they are either very abundant, easy to catch or just the preferred fish species.
