Project Great Crested Grebe cont...

After a late night with drinks the evening before an early start on Sunday was definitely off the cards. I managed to haul my sorry arse out of bed around 9:30 and got down to the water by 11:00. No soft dawn light for me, had to make do with some high contrast full sun and be careful not to blow the highlights, easier said than done! Anyhow it's noticeable the grebes are getting used to me being around and are fishing much closer than they were. The female is busy nest building and she should be getting ready to lay in a few week I hope. I haven't seen them catch anything in range of the camera as yet, so just portrait shots at the moment. I just need to make sure now I get up early for some nice light.
